Brr, there's a spooky pattering of rain, some decidedly sinister keyboard sounds, then the spectacular female vocals start - one a classical soprano and the other a rock singer. Which really are the highpoint of this album that veers into the realm of death metal at times. It sounds a touch like the music for the The Omen films, and wouldn't sound amiss in the background as the parents drive the chid Damien up the hill towards Guilford cathedral.

The lyrics are in German, English and Latin, and do have an operatic quality. It's hard not to make them sound like an overblown Spinal Tap, but they are really do seem quite ... serious.

If operatic, grand-scale dramatic hard metal Goth is your kind of thing, you'll love this.
