| ACT I
SCENE I. A desert place.
Thunder and lightning. Enter three Witches
First Witch: When shall we three meet again
In thunder, lightning, or in rain?
Second Witch: When the hurlyburly's done,
When the battle's lost and won.
Third Witch: That will be ere the set of sun.
First Witch: Er, before we go, I was wondering if you had heard the latest album of gothic metal to come from Italy?
Second Witch: Does it feature angelic female singing from an alluring woman and demonic vocals from a man?
First Witch: Yes, it does. How did you know?
Second Witch: Just a lucky guess.
Third Witch: Tell us more of this Macbeth from Italy?
First Witch: You probably don't need another gothic metal band in your life, but if you want more in the vein of Lacuna Coil or Evanescence then Macbeth are good at what they do. The male singer is deep-voiced rather than sore-throated growly, which is always A Good Thing.
Second Witch: What are the stand-out songs on this album?
First Witch: "Watch Us Die" uses Eastern scales, allowing the song to take flight. This hint of Eastern promise – much like Lacuna Coil's "Swamped" – returns for "Veils".
Third Witch: So if iPods had been invented these would be the songs you'd put on yours?
First Witch: Who is that over there hiding in the hedge?
Second Witch: It's that Hard Wired writer Stuart Moses again.
Third Witch: You'd think it would be easier for him to write his own reviews, rather than skulk around trying to record our conversations.
Three Witches: Let's nab 'im!
Stuart Moses: Fair is foul, and foul is fair: Hover through the fog and filthy air.
