To celebrate Feindflug's 10th anniversary Noitekk have released this DVD compilation that no fans of the band will want to miss, as it contains just about everything the dedicated Feindflug lover could ever wish for. The main feature of the disc is a concert in Berlin where the picture & sound quality are both first class, capturing the full intensity of the live performance whilst incorporating images from the impressive visuals. Very few live DVDs have managed to capture the essence of a live perfomance so well &, in this respect, this easily beats Noitekk's "Different Music Is Our Passion" DVD as well as such vaunted releases as Out Of Line's second festival disc & VNV Nation's "Pastperfect". Fiendflug being an instrumental band is probably a helpful factor here but the fact remains that this is the finest concert DVD I've ever watched. The short interviews, conducted in German, naturlich, are OK although the only thing I can actually decipher is something (probably the furore caused) about dedicating "Stukas In Visier" to Hugo Junkers, who designed the infamous divebomber. The bonus clips from Liepzig & a particularly up-for-it performance in Magdeburg again benefit from the musical power shining through while the video clips are very well put together, too, with the band looking suitably tough & actually getting to have a go on A REAL TANK on "Truppenschau" (surely the ultimate boys' toy!) although there are no signs of any Stukas during "Stukas In Visier"; I guess this would have been unacceptable to the German powers-that-be who, it seems, don't care much for Feindflug anyway! The 12-minute film "Zonen" is a bit of an aquired taste, I think, as the only link with the band seems to be that they provided the opening & end themes. It's set, so it seems, in a post-apocalyptic future (& there's me thinking it was going to be a romantic comedy!). It's all quite mysterious & not a little portentious but if you have to have everything then here it is. Some outtakes rounds things off with footage of the band & their associates generally larking around & having fun on location, proving that, underneath it all, they are human after all! The limited edition (which has probably sold out by now) comes with a round of real AK47 ammo so overseas orders are definately off the agenda but, even the normal version is a must-have for anyone with even the slightest interest in the band
