Oh yes, I'm liking it already and I've only heard the first four bars! "Hands Tied" is riffy, fun and making me want to get out of my rocking chair and pogo up and down like an eighteen year old again. Their lead singer apparently abandoned Kart Racing to Lewis Hamilton (his one time competitor), and there's a craving for an adrenaline rush in here and it really comes across to the listener. "Smile Again" is tight, raw and impassioned. And there's a few nods to The Clash's "London's Calling" here as well. For a band who only formed five months ago, it sounds as if they might already be making progress in the scene. "Beautiful Lies" is okay, but still the strongest track is the first, as it should be on a demo. Looks-wise, it's a bit Manic Street Preachers-esque, post-Richey, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. (Not the minus Richey bit, oh you know what I mean.) But a bit of glitter here, a flashy jacket there, or perhaps some brothel creepers and they're ready to take on the world. Let me speak to the manager, I'll be your PA (ten thousand groans are noticeably audible from those who know). Oh well, it was only a suggestion but they've got the kind of sound and the youth that could well see them propelled firmly in an upward direction...
Bung some glitter on and get out there.
