And now it's time for some truly tuneful stuff from Chuck Prophet, who has been receiving some rave reviews from those music bibles Q, UnCut and Mojo, for his new album "Soap and Water". And this is a 2-track sample from it. "Would You Love Me" has the haunting lilt of a choir in the background and the lines 'I've still got a box of band aids – can we patch things up?", which makes it a winner in my court. There's a harmonica too, all adding up to the perfect recipe for a soul-country-rock hit.

"Naked Ray" follows the same school of laid-back lilt, with some slide guitar thrown in there too for good measure. It's actually easy listening, and it's toe-tapping good. You can hear the Dylan influence, and the lazy-laid backness of bluesy Stones, and – dare I say it – vocals that sound similar to Mark Knopfler. Please don't take that the wrong way.

Chuck Prophet, is apparently, not a man to sit about despite that it's been three years since his last album "Age of Miracles", and has been involved in many different projects. This has included producing tracks for a Sundance Jury award winning film Teeth about a woman with a toothed vagina. And if that won't break you out in a sweat, I don't really know what will.

Evolved chill out for evolved people.
