Wow! What a breath of fresh air. For this musical offering, Riccardo Prencipe has gathered different famous Italian artists around his object 'Corde Oblique', blending lute, guitar, violin, piano and voice. He composes, plays classical guitar and medieval lute (anything he can't do?) It actually really is a medieval trip into a more romantic past, and it's really sweet.

Think Beau Brummel-shirted types wafting in and out of the landscape, bearing red roses for their betrothed. Men on white horses galloping in to rescue fair maidens from the dark clutches of evil kings. It gets really interesting on "Kaiowas", which is an acoustic version of Sepultura's album "Chaos AD".

"My Harbour" brings in guitars, and a male voice just wafting over the top. The soul and heart in this music comes across, with the instinct knowing of when to hold back slightly, rather than giving it the full throttle. I think it's called being a skilled musician, a rare thing to find.

The proof of the pudding in this one is in the listening. I can't criticize, I just want to listen to this and get engulfed in the music. And stop tapping. So I will.

It does everything that it says it can. Nuff said! Go listen.
