A practical gift to give to your Valentine to let them know how you feel, perhaps?
This three-track EP starts with "Lovesick", which conjures up images of sordid goings on in a hotel, involving plastic dolls and other shenanigans. Say no more. 'Everybody's got the lovesick fevers'. It's a tuneful ditty, in any case, and not syrupy or sugar coated on its way to the Disney studio at all, thank god. A dubious telephone conversation also features: 'What are you wearing?' 'Uh, I dunno'. Well, you've got to make a living somehow, especially when you're in a band and you'll do anything for a few pennies, won't you? Yes, I know.
"The Vapours" is a clubby-dancey sounding track, full of synths and perfect to drink that bottle of Shiraz to (or in recessional times, you might want to try the Tesco's economy red – it's OK, really). It plods on in quite a steady, psychedelic spirally fashion.
"The Timbers" is altogether rockier sounding, jingly-jangly guitars again, totally danceable, indie kids will love it, older indie kids will love it, your parents might like it too. Everyone's a winner.
