The name of this album is actually an anagram of the band's name – and is meant to portray the fact that the songs are intended to be full of lyrical mind games. At least it's not called "Cupid Stunts" or we'd really be in trouble.
"Human Error" is OK, but nothing special really, sorry. "Hey! Paranoid people! (What's in Your Head)" I find myself warming too, it's full of adolescent teenage angst, imporing the listener to grab that eyeliner, scrawl it on Robert Smith style and drink cider like a reprobate while sitting on the front doorstep. Or is it just me? Am I being paranoid again, people? Oh, ok then. Sounding more than a little like Iggy, there's "Yeah, Yeah, Just Another Mistake", which is fully charged and full-on road rage music. If you're down the gym, this would probably put more than a boot up the proverbial if you're looking for motivational sounds. Toning it down a little for "Eye Of The Needle" The Datsuns prove that they're not just out and out thrashers, this track has an odd, melancholic feel to it, and has a Lynchian mood too (is 'Lynchian' an acceptable adjective? Well darn, it is now). It's raw and heady, if you like The White Stripes then you'll like this. "So Long" is another goodie, as is "Highschool Hoodlum". All in all, it's alright really. It's perfect for reliving a misspent youth, igniting your inner reprobate, or just for a blast on the running machine. Whatever takes your fancy.
